On one bank, a man splashed, calling out as if in distress. His voice carried across the water, urgent yet uncertain. And on the opposite side, a young elephant named Kham Lha<\/strong> froze, ears flapping, eyes fixed on him.<\/p>\n\n\n\n

With a burst of determination, the five-year-old elephant plunged into the river, pushing against the current with all her strength. Her little legs churned through the water, her trunk lifted high. To her, there was only one thought \u2014 he needs me<\/em>.<\/p>\n\n\n\n
