Thomas Greer \u2014 A Warrior, a Leader, and a Man Gone Too Soon"},"content":{"rendered":"<p data-start=\"330\" data-end=\"518\">\u201c<strong data-start=\"331\" data-end=\"505\">God didn\u2019t promise days without pain, laughter without sorrow, or sun without rain, but He did promise strength for the day, comfort for the tears, and light for the way.<\/strong>\u201d \u2014 <em data-start=\"509\" data-end=\"518\">Unknown<\/em><\/p>\n<p data-start=\"520\" data-end=\"843\">On <strong data-start=\"523\" data-end=\"542\">21 October 2016<\/strong>, the Special Operations Forces community lost one of its most respected members \u2014 <strong data-start=\"625\" data-end=\"654\">Major (Ret.) Thomas Greer<\/strong>. After a short, courageous battle with pancreatic cancer, he left behind a legacy built on service, sacrifice, and unwavering devotion to his country, his family, and his brothers in arms.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"845\" data-end=\"1146\">Greer retired in 2005 after more than <strong data-start=\"883\" data-end=\"924\">twenty years of distinguished service<\/strong> in the United States Army, including <strong data-start=\"962\" data-end=\"1001\">fifteen years in special operations<\/strong>. His career placed him among the elite, serving within <strong data-start=\"1057\" data-end=\"1072\">Delta Force<\/strong>, one of the most highly trained and discreet military units in the world.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1148\" data-end=\"1589\">He is remembered not only for his operational expertise, but for his leadership during some of the most pivotal moments in modern American military history. Most notably, he played a vital role in the mission to <strong data-start=\"1360\" data-end=\"1403\">capture or kill Osama bin Laden in 2001<\/strong>, during the intense operations that followed the devastating attacks of 9\/11. His actions, dedication, and strategic insight left a permanent mark on the global fight against terrorism.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"1591\" data-end=\"1959\">To those who knew him personally, Thomas Greer was far more than a soldier.<br data-start=\"1666\" data-end=\"1669\" \/>He was a <strong data-start=\"1678\" data-end=\"1689\">patriot<\/strong>, a <strong data-start=\"1693\" data-end=\"1704\">warrior<\/strong>, a <strong data-start=\"1708\" data-end=\"1719\">husband<\/strong>, a <strong data-start=\"1723\" data-end=\"1733\">father<\/strong>, and a <strong data-start=\"1741\" data-end=\"1751\">leader<\/strong> with a deep sense of duty and quiet humility.
